Mission:  

“The Anti-Drug Club is dedicated to raising awareness, fostering education, and promoting a drug-free lifestyle among individuals of all ages and backgrounds. Through proactive initiatives, community outreach, and collaboration with stakeholders, we strive to prevent drug abuse, support those affected, and cultivate a culture of resilience, wellness, and hope.”

Objectives :

The Anti-Drug Club is a proactive initiative aimed at creating awareness, preventing drug abuse, and promoting a healthy, drug-free lifestyle among our students.

Outcome:

Students benefit from joining anti-drug clubs as they provide education on the risks of substance abuse, offer a supportive community to discuss concerns, promote advocacy for drug-free lifestyles, foster personal development through leadership and teamwork, contribute to prevention efforts via awareness campaigns, and empower students to influence their peers positively, thereby creating a healthier school and community environment overall.

Say No to Drugs

Report :

The Anti-Drug Club organized a street play competition on the topic “Say no to Drugs” on 18/02/2025 at Seminar Hall – 2. Dr. A Rohini Priya., M.Com., M.Phil., Ph. D and Associate Professor and Head, Department of Commerce delivered a speech about drugs and encouraged the students who had participated. Then, she announced the winners according to their lot numbers. She addressed the main cause of addiction and applauded our club members who had come forward to create a drug free society. She also encouraged the students to help the society to prevent
addiction in many ways

Strengths Of The Program :

The speaker, being an expert in providing guidance and possessing field knowledge, imparted knowledge on drug addiction and many ways to prevent it. Also she shared her professional experiences to students, which developed optimism amongst students.

Challenges :

Though the speaker delivered an eagle view of the drug addiction and ways to control and prevent it, limited time constraint provided to restrict on the other areas to discuss because the singing competition was conducted for half an hour.

Recommendations :

For improvement multiple sessions, rally, street play, singing, group discussions, speech, etc., can be planned and executed to create a drug free society.

The more you see the less you live

Report :

The Anti-Drug Club organized a singing competition on the topic “The More You Use, the Less you live” on 27/01/2025 at Room No: 12. Dr.C.Balasaraswathi Assistant Professor, Department of Tamil and NSS Program Officer delivered a speech about drugs and encouraged the students who had participated. Then, she announced the winners according to their lot numbers. She addressed the main cause of addiction and applauded our club members who had come forward to create a drug free society. She also encouraged the students to help the society to prevent addiction in many ways.

The speaker, being an expert in providing guidance and possessing field knowledge, imparted knowledge on drug addiction and many ways to prevent it. Also she shared her professional experiences to students, which developed optimism amongst students.

The first activity of the Anti Drug Clubwas held on 21st January 2025 at mini auditorium. The event marked a significant step in our ongoing efforts to combat drug abuse and addiction in our community. The event was graced by the esteemed presence of the guests Dr.MangalambigaiBharathkumar, M.B.B.S. PG Deputy Director Bharath hospital Nanganallur,Chennai and Dr.BSivaranjani Arun, DGO,DNB(OBGYN) and Dr. A C N Aruna,M.Sc.,M.Phil.,(Psychologist), managing director in Jeeva Rakshai Mental Health Wellness Centre,Deaddiction cum Rehabilitation and Psychiatric care

 The event commenced with our college prayer and a welcome speech was given by our club student co-ordinators Ms. V Ghayathri and Ms. P Dillisri. Inspiring speech was delivered by the esteemed guests. They commended the initiative taken by the Anti Drug Club and urged the members to continue their efforts in raising awareness and providing support to those in need.

 The event that held on the day was a resounding success, bring together individuals from all walks of life united in their commitment to combating drug abuse. The event served as a tool of information so that we could create a drug free environment for current and future generations. As we embark on this journey, we remain grateful for the support of our esteemed guests, dedicated members and faculty members and we look forward to make a positive impact to fight against drug abuse.
