Mastering influence and impact next generation leaders

Report :

  • The topic of this seminar is Mastering influence and impact next generation leaders.The speakers gave us a brief introduction about the leaders which would make us to get some bus ideas. he also gave us informationby giving some real life examples.
  • It gives us immense pleasure on thanking the guest who gave us a inspiring and motivating speech to the beneficiaries.

Strengths :

  • The seminar on Initiating Inclusiveness in the field of sustainable entrepreneur was highly informative and engaging.
  • The presenter used more real life examples to made the concepts more relatable and easier to understand.
  • I particularly appreciate the interactive sessions with the presenter which is really well organised and helpful to the audience.

Challenges faced by us during the seminar include like they were lack of relevance to personal needs and sometimes lack of engagement due to presentation style of the speakers and other limited networking opportunities and time.

Programme Outcome :

Participants develop confidence in their ability to influence and impact others and they have learnt to communicate effectively, articulating their ideas and perspectives clearly. They have also developed leadership skills, learning to motivate and inspire others. And they developed strategic thinking skills, learning to analyze situations and
develop effective plans. Participants develop a strong personal brand, learning to showcase their skills and expertise and also have involved in participating in developing networking skills, learning to build and leverage professional relationships. They developed resilience and adaptability, learning to navigate challenges and uncertainty and have learnt to influence and persuade others, developing effective negotiation and persuasion skills.

Inter Department Competition (Anukalai Kodu)

Report:

  • ANUKALAI KODU  is the event to provide a fun and interactive platform for the participants to socialize bond and showcase their competitive spirit.
  • In this event, the participants were enjoyed very much and they showcase their ability to take part in this event.
  • The event featured various games that tested the participants problem solving abilities, presence of mind and team work.

Objectives:

  • To provide a platform for students to showcase their presence of mind and problem solving skills.
  • To promote a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.
  • To provide a platform for students to socialize, have fun and showcase their talents.

 Event Highlights:

  • Round 1: Who scores the highest? – All the Participants have to write the related words in one minute which is selected from the word bowl by the participants itself.
  • Round 2: Hear to Whisper – In a team, one participants have to wear earphones while their partner have to enact the tongue twister within given time.
  • Round 3: Connections – The final round consolidated to four teams. The participants have to find the Words by the pictures which is projected within 40 seconds

Inter Department Competition (Thiran)

Report :

  • THIRAN  is the event to provide a fun and interactive platform for the participants to socialize bond and showcase their competitive spirit.
  • In this event, the participants were enjoyed very much and they showcase their ability to take part in this event.
  • The event featured various games that tested the participants problem solvind abilities, presence of mind and team work..

Objectives :

  • To provide a platform for students to showcase their technical skills and gaming talents.
  • To promote a spirit of healthy competition and sportsmanship.
  • To foster teamwork and collaboration among participants.

 Event Highlights :

  • Round 1: Quiz – Participants are randomly selected by the judge and asked general knowledge questions.
  • Round 2: Find the Condour – Participants are to find the true statement in given other three statements within given time.
  • Round 3: Crossword Puzzle – The final round consolidated to six teams. The participants have to find the crossword puzzles within given time.

The event is a workshop titled “Conquering Competitive Exams. A Strategic Approach”, organized by the Quiz Club and Ability to Access Cell of Shrimathi Devkunvar Nanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College for Women (Autonomous), Chennai on February 17, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM at the Mini Auditorium of the college.

This event is ideal for students aiming to appear for competitive exams, as it will equip them with useful strategies and insights from an experienced mentor in the field.

Summary :

The workshop aimed at providing students with a structured and strategic approach to preparing for competitive exams, especially Civil Services (UPSC/TNPSC). The session covered essential aspects of competitive exam preparation, including types of exams, eligibility criteria, exam structure, syllabus breakdown, and recommended study materials.

Challenges :

 The challenge that we faced is that Problems with microphone disrupted the session and also Some students might have different level so funder standing about competitive exams, making it challenging to cater to everyone’s needs.

Recommendations for Improvement :

Test audio-visual equipment, microphones, and presentation slides beforehand to avoid disruptions. Share handouts, PDF notes, or recommended book lists so students can continue learning after the session.

Programme Outcome :

The workshop “Conquering Competitive Exams – A Strategic Approach” provided students with valuable insights into UPSC, TNPSC, and other government exams. Led by S. Rajasekaran (Project Head, Veranda IAS), it covered exam patterns, study strategies, and resource recommendations, boosting students’ confidence and motivation. The sessional so emphasized effective time management and structured preparation, helping participants set clear career goals. Additionally, it created networking and mentorship opportunities, ensuring continued guidance. Overall, the event enhanced students’ readiness and aspirations for competitive exams.

நகைச்சுவையே நல்லசுவை !

Report :

Shrimathi Devkumar Nanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College for Women’s Humor Club in association with Ability to Access Cell conducted a Guest lecture on நகைச்சுவையேநல்லசுவை! (Nagaichuvaiye Nalla Suvai) by Dr.Mu Muthuveluon 06.02.25 in the Seminar Hall 1 at 11.30. 1.00 PM.  Tamil Thai song was played at the beginning followed by our college prayer song. Sruthi and Vinothini III B Com hosted the event. Sri Varshini, III B Com student gave the welcome address.  Dr. Muthuvelu Former Registrar and Professor of the Central Institute of Classical Tamil Studies spoke about the dimensions of comedy. Humor is embedded even in the smallest words, actions and exchanges among relationships in our daily life. He also talked about comedy found in the literature.  Therefore, his speech was structured in such a way as to arouse the interest of the students so that they can easily engage in humour and get relieved from tension out of day today life.  He summed up various messages about humor and said that life without humor is useless and life without humor is not a good life. He engaged the audience by humorous anecdotes and illustrations from Tamil and English literature. The event ended with the playing of National Anthem.

She also gave us information about sustainable development in entrepreneurship by giving some real life examples.

Unconscious bias and initiating inclusiveness

Report:

 The topic of this seminar is unconscious bias and initiating inclusiveness in the field of sustainable education. The speakers gave us a brief introduction about the TNPSC exam which would make proper planning on choosing government jobs. They also gave us information about group 2, 3,4, exams and other tips to pass those exams and lead into a successful career.

  • It gives us immense pleasure in thanking those guests who gave us a useful and an appropriate path to choose our career.

 Strengths:

They had an immense and core collaborative spirit on the topic to inspire and motivate the students. We were able to cope up with those who were delivered who had emotional intelligence and other abilities who took the students to be with their minds and taught us briefly about the topic they were to say.  They also provided detailed oriented information and showed a positive attitude over students.

Program outcome:

We were able to learn about the government exams which gave us resultant knowledge on attending this session which also helped us learn about the tips and tricks to be done before preparing for these government exams to get settled by getting government jobs at a younger age. We also got information like group 4, group 2 exams and the syllabus to be done before attending those exams on the way to proceed getting good scores too.  We also understood how to cope up with the different choice questions and the way of answering it. Thus it was a very useful and informative session ahead.

 

Queenpreneur : build, lead, succeed

The topic of the seminar is Queenpreneur : build, lead, succeed. The speakers gave us a brief introduction about the entrepreneurship which would make us to get some business ideas.

She also gave real life women entrepreneur examples likeIndra Nooyi, FalguniNayar who have become a success women entrepreneur.
