To aim at strengthening the culture of electoral  participation among young and future voters.

Mission:

To develop an electoral sense among the citizens that ‘every vote counts’ and ‘no vote to be left behind’

Objectives:

  • Promoting awareness on “Right to Vote” among students, Faculty and Community at large.
  • To enable critical thinking on issues related to election, rights, democracies/non democracies electoral system and its processes.

Outcome:

  • Students gained a deeper understanding of electoral processes and voting rights
  • Students register to vote and participate in elections, thereby increasing voter turnout and engagement among young adults.

Activities 2024-25

Does NOTA really make impact on voting rights Yes or No

Report :

The program began with the blessings of the Almighty. The event commenced with a welcome address M.Rakshana Parveen. Following this K.Manusri delivered a brief introduction of the judge. The session was taken over to Ms.A.Arundhathi . The electoral literacy club hosted a debate session on the topic “Does NOTA really make an impact on voting rights Yes or No” on 9th December 2024. Two groups of the students participated in this event and win prizes. Over 190 students attended the event and shared their views on voting rights. Students gained knowledge through the presentations on voting machines through pictures and also the mixed opinions of the students about the topic gave more knowledge regarding NOTA. This program created awareness among younger generation to wisely exercise their Voting rights

Strengths of The Program :

The strength of the debate session was in a structured form and each student speakers had clarity and reasoning in their opinions, it was an engaging session and the delivery style was appropriate and the students also received feedback and opportunities for improvement.

Challenges : 

Due to timing and shift constraints not all students of the college participated

Over 190 students participated in the event and shared their views on voting rights. Students gained knowledge through the presentations on voting machines through pictures and also the mixed opinions of the students about the topic gave more knowledge regarding NOTA.

Poster Making – “Elections : Shaping Our Future”

The session was taken over to Ms.M.Nivedha. The electoral literacy club hosted a poster making session on the topic “ELECTIONS: SHAPING OUR FUTURE” on 24th December 2024. Groups of the students participated in this event and won prizes.Students gained knowledge through the posters pictures. This program created awareness among the younger generation to wisely exercise their Voting rights.

Strengths of the Program :

The strength of the poster making session was in a structured form and each student made posters with clarity and reasoning in their posters, it was an engaging session and the drawing style was appropriate and the students also received feedback and opportunities for improvement from resource persons.

Program Outcome :

Groups of the students participated in this event and won prizes. Students gained knowledge through the posters’ pictures. This program created awareness among the younger generation to wisely exercise their Voting rights.
