Department of Statistics has been offering B.Sc.(Statistics) programme from 1984  and recognised as a  Research department by the University of Madras in 2012. The programme is structured for the benefits of the students giving ample opportunities to develop them as a professional analyst and academicians. Students are mentored and engaged by the faculty with dedication for their professional development. The department has well equipped Research Laboratory with high-ended computers with internet facility & latest licensed software like IBM SPSS Statistics 23, AMOS & SYSTAT and freely downloadable R programming Undergraduate students are offered programming skills in C/C++ & R language and MS EXCEL & SPSS for Data Analysis.  Hands-on training on Exploratory Data Analysis through group Mini Projects is a salient feature of the programme.
