B.Sc.Psychology (SFS)
Established in 2019, the Department of Psychology offers a dynamic B.Sc. Psychology programme that blends strong theoretical foundations with practical training. Students are introduced to core areas of psychology and gain applied skills in assessment, experimental design and counselling techniques, preparing them to understand human behaviour and apply this knowledge in professional contexts. The department is supported by experienced faculty members who bring both academic expertise and field-based insights, guiding students in theory, research, and practice.
Learning is enhanced through well-equipped Psychological Labs and interactive classrooms. To enhance student learning and professional readiness, the department offers value-added programs such as Coursera and NPTEL courses. Beyond academics, students regularly participate in workshops, seminars, and conferences, while mandatory summer internships provide real-world exposure and build professional competence. Research and experiential learning form the core of the department’s activities. Students are encouraged to present papers at academic forums and contribute to publications, fostering a spirit of inquiry and innovation.
Graduates develop strong analytical, research, and interpersonal skills, preparing them to pursue higher education in specialized fields such as Clinical, Counselling, or Educational Psychology. With advanced qualifications, they can build careers as Clinical Psychologists, Counsellors, Research Assistants, HR Specialists and Educational Psychologists, contributing meaningfully to both public and private sectors. The Department remains committed to create psychology professionals who not only succeed in their careers but also contribute meaningfully to mental health and social well-being.
