B.Com Computer Applications (SFS)
The Department of B.Com Computer Applications was established in the academic year 2021–2022 under the self-financed stream to meet the growing need for professionals who can integrate commerce with computer applications. The programme blends business and technology, providing students with the dual advantage of expertise in commerce along with proficiency in modern software tools. With increasing demand for this program, an additional section was introduced in the academic year 2025.
The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in both commerce and technology. Core subjects such as Financial Accounting, Corporate Accounting, C++, Python, Java and SPSS balance theoretical concepts with practical applications. To ensure industry readiness, students are also encouraged to take up MOOCs through platforms such as Coursera and NPTEL. The department is supported by a dedicated team of qualified faculty members and modern infrastructure, including advanced computer laboratories, high-speed internet facilities and a well-stocked library, all of which create a conducive environment for academic and professional growth.
In addition to classroom learning, the department regularly organizes workshops, invited lectures and seminars with industry professionals to bridge the gap between academics and practice. Students also undertake internships and research projects, gaining hands-on experience that enhances their employability. Graduates of this program have gone on to secure placements in reputed organizations across finance, data analytics, software development and management, contributing significantly to the dynamic business and technology ecosystem.
