Disaster Risk Reduction

Vision:   

To build a resilient and disaster-prepared academic community through education,awareness, and proactive engagement, aligning with the national vision of a disaster-resilient India and encouraging student-led innovation and participation in climate action, safety planning,and disaster response initiatives which promotes community awareness, emergency preparedness, and sustainability through hands-on training, risk assessments, and outreach initiatives.

Mission:  

To integrate Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) into the higher education ecosystem by establishing active DRR Clubs in all departments and equip students with essential knowledge and skills through a 2-credit skill enhancement course in disaster management through collaboration with national agencies such as NIDM for capacity building and resource sharing.

Objectives:

1. To educate students and the community about disaster risks, preparedness, and safety measures.
2. To train the students in first aid, evacuation procedures, and basic rescue techniques.
3. To advocate the students for practices that minimizes disaster impact on people and property.
4. To strengthen the capacity of individuals and groups to respond effectively duringemergencies.
5. To create a network of trained volunteers ready to assist during disasters.

Outcome:
