M.Sc. Chemistry (SFS)

The Postgraduate Department of Chemistry was established in 2016 as part of the self-financed stream with the vision of fostering academic excellence and cultivating research aptitude among students. Since its inception, the department has provided a strong foundation in chemical sciences, supported by a well-structured curriculum and committed faculty. A major milestone was achieved in 2024 when it was elevated to a Research Department, expanding its scope to advanced studies, interdisciplinary collaborations and innovative research in chemistry.

The department offers well-equipped laboratories that provide an ideal environment for hands-on experiments, analytical training and scientific exploration. Situated in a serene setting, the academic atmosphere fosters concentration and intellectual growth. The faculty team is highly qualified, with expertise across diverse research areas and is actively engaged in publishing in reputed Scopus- and Web of Science–indexed journals. Their approachable teaching style and use of blended learning techniques enhance student engagement and knowledge acquisition. Students also expand their skills through MOOC platforms such as NPTEL and Coursera, and actively participate in seminars, workshops and invited talks, enriching their academic and professional exposure.

Graduates of the department have secured successful placements in multiple fields, including teaching positions in reputed institutions, junior scientist roles in pharmaceutical industries and opportunities in e-publishing companies.
