B.Sc Computer Science with Data Science (SFS)

Established in 2022, the Department of Data Science began its academic journey with 35 students and has since grown to a strength of 153, reflecting both the rising demand for data-driven professionals and the department’s commitment to academic excellence. With a strong emphasis on academic rigor, hands-on learning, and industry relevance, the department continuously strives to shape competent and future-ready graduates. The Bsc CS with DS programme curriculum is carefully designed to align with current industry standards and technological advancements, along with mandatory internships that provide real-world exposure.

The department is equipped with modern infrastructure, including smart classrooms with LCD projectors, interactive boards, and well-furnished laboratories that promote practical learning and innovation. A dedicated team of experienced faculty members actively contribute to teaching, mentoring, and research. Their scholarly work is regularly published in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals, reflecting the department’s strong research culture. Beyond academics, the department actively supports students in all aspects of growth—offering guidance in research, mentoring, and career development. Students are encouraged to enhance their knowledge through skill development programs and value-added online courses such as NPTEL and Coursera, enriching their academic experience.

Academic integration with HCL, through its learning platform GUVI, ensures students receive hands-on industry exposure and certifications. The department proudly maintains a 100% placement record, with students placed in leading IT companies in roles such as Data Analyst, Data Scientist, Business Intelligence Analyst, and Machine Learning Engineer.
