B.Sc. Visual Communication (SFS)
The Department of Visual Communication was established in 2007 under the self-finance stream, offering a three-year undergraduate program in B.Sc. Visual Communication. Since its inception, the department has focused on nurturing creativity and technical expertise in visual storytelling and design. Supported by a team of experienced and dedicated faculty members, the department provides students with academic guidance, professional mentorship and exposure to the latest industry practices. Well-equipped facilities such as a Preview Theatre, Shooting Floor, Photography Lab, Video Editing and Dubbing Suites, Multimedia Studio and Drawing Studio create an environment where students can explore and enhance their creative skills.
Beyond classroom teaching, the department places strong emphasis on experiential learning. Students are encouraged to pursue certifications in design software, animation tools and emerging media platforms through MOOCs like Coursera and NPTEL, helping them build additional competencies. Internships with media houses studios provide real-world exposure, while workshops, guest lectures and industry interactions ensure continuous engagement with professional trends. The department also fosters student participation in seminars, exhibitions and competitions, allowing them to showcase their talent on both academic and creative platforms.
