M.A. Economics (SFS)

Established in 1968, the Department of Economics holds the distinction of being the first academic department of the institution, carrying forward a proud legacy of over five decades. The department of M.A. Economics, introduced in 2022 under the Self-Financed stream, has expanded opportunities for advanced study. With a progressive curriculum and a focus on both theoretical foundations and applied learning, the department remains a pioneer in nurturing economic thought and practice.

The department is supported by well-furnished classrooms, ICT-enabled teaching facilities, and access to the central library with an extensive collection of books, journals and e-resources. The curriculum introduces industry-relevant and career-focused subjects such as Economics of Investment, Industrial Economics, Applied Python Programming and Applied Power BI for Economists.
