The Department of Sanskrit, established in 1984 under the Self-Finance stream, makes Sanskrit learning accessible to students, preserving its literary and cultural heritage. Students are exposed to classical works by great poets, encouraging them to recognize the literary brilliance of renowned ancient authors.

The syllabus starts from the basics, covering classical works, Panchatantra tales, dramatic literature, Alankara Sastra, Ayurveda Sastra, and the Sanskrit translation of Aathichoodi, enhancing both linguistic skills and ethical values.

Additionally, the Department offers the basics of Vedic Mathematics as a non-major elective, providing a foundation to foster quick mathematical learning, a system once widely used in Vedic times.
