About Faculty:
Dr Renu Agarwal, M Sc, M. Phil, MBA, UGC-NET-JRF and PhD, working as Dean of New Age Sciences and Head – PG department of Food Science, Nutrition & Dietetics, Assistant Professor since May 2013 in SDNB Vaishnav College for Women. She has total teaching and research experience over 14 years. Her areas of interest in teaching and research include all areas of Home Science and Human Resource Management. She has PG diplomas in “Computer Applications”, “Early Childhood Education:School Administration” and “Guidance & Counselling”. She attended many National and International conferences, seminars, workshops etc and published over 15 research articles in the journals of National and International repute and completed 4 research projects on “Stress Management”.She is registered as a PhD guide with JJTU, Raj. About Faculty:
Mrs. R Vijaya Vahini is currently working as assistant professor in PG department of food science nutrition and dietetics and Head – B.Sc Nutrition FSM & Dietetics since June 2013 in SDNB Vaishnav College for women Chromepet. She has completed her post graduation in Foods & Nutrition from Ethiraj College for women and received proficiency in the same. She is currently pursuing her part time PhD and also received first rank in entrance exam conducted by the Pondicherry University for the same. Her area of interest in teaching includes food microbiology, physiology, biochemistry and nutrition. She has presented 7 papers at national and international conferences. She has received best paper presentation award for the conference organised by Ethiraj College for women and DG Vaishnav College of arts and science. She has successfully completed Minor research programme funded by management of SDNB Vaishnav College for women in the topic “Formulation and Quality Evaluation of Millet based sports bar for adolescent sports girls”. She has published more than five papers in national and international journals.

Mrs. V.Subasshini –Assistant professor in Msc Homescience-Food science Nutrition and Dietetics and Head Incharge, Department of Homescience-Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. Graduated Bsc Nutrition and Dietetics and received University III rank in Post graduation in Bharathidasan University, Trichirapalli. Awarded Mphil in Avinashilingam Institute of Homescience and Higher Education for women, Coimbatore. Currently pursuing phd-Food science and Nutrition in Periyar University, Salem. Also completed MBA-specialised in HR from Annamalai University. She is a dedicated professor who engages students through creative teaching strategies. She has 8 years of experience as Assistant professor in colleges and 3years of Experience as a Dietitian in Medical Colleges and hospitals. Her Carrier started as a professional Dietitian in Hospitals have counseled therapeutic diets for more than 250 patients per day and also recommended special diets for many celebrities. Invited as Resource person in schools, colleges, village panchayats, to deliver speech regarding Nutrition in Adolescence, Brain foods, Balanced diets and Importance of traditional diets and therapeutic diets. Have demonstrated nutritious recipe for children in SUN TV-Healthy Chutti recipes. National Evaluator in IGNOU for both Undergraduation and Postgraduation. Examiner and Question paper setter for Autonomous colleges and affliated colleges in Madras university, Pondicherry university, Vels Institute, SRM University, MGR University for various disciplines like Nursing, Catering management and Nutrition and dietetics. Her areas of expertise are Dietetics, Food science, Food service management. Her teaching methodologies are providing innovative teaching by activity based learning, Demonstration, Student interaction and Discussions, Brainstorming sessions and smart class room teaching.
