About Faculty: I am serving as Assistant Professor. As the journey has begin, I have involved myself in attending the conferences, and I am part of events organised by our department. I have attended a workshop on “Diabetes and ImportanceofLifeStyle Modification” conducted by Dr. Mohan’s Diabetes Research Centre. My areas of interests in teaching include are Nutrition, Clinical Biochemistry and Research works.

About Faculty:
Mrs. Sangavi P, Assistant Professor become part of this esteemed institution as teaching faculty, since September 2018. She has secured first class with distinctions in M.Sc. and obtained first rank in the B.Sc. degree examinations. She believes learning never ends and continues to get updated by attending various seminar, conferences and FDP. She has been an active participant in various events conducted by the department and played a key role in organizing events and handles various social media of the department as a tool for steering diverse outreach activity by engaging students for nutrition education to the community. Her style of teaching involves blended mode which makes student of this age to learn passionately.Also, she made the third UG students to publish an article in SPARKLES Volume 1 on the survey conducted to understand the knowledge of the general public on nutrition and health as part of community nutrition activity in lockdown.

with 6+ years of versatile experience in handling diverse curriculum is
currently working as Assistant Professor in the department of Home Science –
Clinical Nutrition and Dietetics. She has completed M. Sc. in Clinical
Nutrition from Avinashilingam University for Women and has received Sir John
Reid Gold Medal for securing the first rank. She began her teaching career at
MOP Vaishnav College for Women where she handled papers for undergraduate and
postgraduate students in the field of Food Science and Technology. She is
known for her meticulous and creative approach. Her passion for teaching
equips her with the zest for life and she avidly travels the extra mile. She
believes that teaching learning pursuit is a lifelong process and her pedagogical
methods infuse the love for learning in students. Her profound interests also lie in writing
and oratory which she uses to educate the community. She is a prolific team
player and an active contributor who has been instrumental in the conduct of
various events organized by the department.

with Foods and Nutrition under Bharathiar University, Coimbatore in which she
has secured University Rank also.She
has started her career as an Assistant Professor in the Department
of Nutrition and Dietetics ,Maharaja College for Women,
Perundurai affiliated to Bharathiyar University, Coimbatore for a period of
five years from June 1999 to
May,2004.She has taught both Under
Graduate and Post Graduate students.She
has qualified UGC NET Examination for Lectureship in 1999.Currently
she is working as an Assistant Professor in SDNB Vaishnav College from June
2017 till present.She published articles in reputed News papers like Indian
Express,Times of India,The Hindu Tamil regarding Nutrition and social
awareness.She also participated
in Nutrition awareness sessions in
Tamil in Makkal Television every day for three weeks during October 2017 to
December 2017. She also participated
in Television debates on various social issues.She has Imparted nutrition education as a part of Rotary
club,Guindy to the students of Mogappair Government school,Chennai and
also to Sakthi School of special children at Melmaruvathur,Chennai during 2018-19.
