As per various studies, the industry is expected to create over 45 million jobs in India by 2025.
Students have endless career opportunities in this ever growing industry of travel and tourism. Travel and tourism careers are found in various business sectors, including Airlines, Railways, Travel agencies, Hotels,Government Tourism Departments such as ITDC, India Tourism, TTDC etc., (through UPSC and TNPSC examinations). Tour operators, Immigration and Customs services, Cargo sector, Tour Guidesmeeting, convention and event planners., and the list continues.

In 2013, The University Grants Commission (UGC) had formally launched a B.Voc degree as part of its scheme of skill development based higher education in various domains such as automotive, Information Technology(IT), agriculture, Tourism and Marketing.
B.Voc degree is a recognised course and is on par with other bachelor’s degree courses by the UGC. The students of B.Voc are eligible to appear for competitive exams like other degree holders. The special feature aboutB.Voc is that the course is more practical and less theoretical.
The students will get hands on training by taking up more internships both in Travel and Tourism associated companies.

Psychology is a scientific subject that studies about the human mind and behaviour. Psychology studies about why humans behave in certain ways. The influence of various factors like culture, genetics and the physical and social environment which impact on the development of each individual which affects their perspective of the world. They can learn about various psychiatric disorders and its treatment. This subject requires a lot of self initiated learning to become a better psychologist. One can learn about themselves better and help in their overall improvisation in personality. This study is a growing subject and has a wide application in schools, colleges, companies and hospitals. They can run their private clinics. Many organizations recruit psychologists to understand about their employees issues and make them into productive workforce. In the growing age of technology and modernisation, where individuals have high stress levels and decreasing time of quality relationships with their families, resulting in mental health issues like depression, suicide, marital issues like divorce and inability of students to concentrate in their careers, Psychology proves itself to be a valuable subject and promotes the human welfare of society. Internship is encouraged for the students during the summer vacations to bridge the gap between classroom learning and real life application. However, it is not compulsory. Students must complete their B.Sc., M.Sc. and Phd. in their area of specialisation to work as qualified psychologists.

NUTRITION, FOOD SERVICE MANAGEMENT AND DIETETICS an undergraduate course established in the year 2016 by the Department of Home science. Nutrition is important for a healthy lifestyle and promotes overall health.
The students are trained in the subjects like food science, Microbiology, Nutrition, Physiology, Dietetics, Sports nutrition, Community nutrition Food service management, Family meal management, Interior decorations, Textiles and Human development with special emphasis being placed on implementation in the field of paramedical and food industry. The students are exposed to on-the-job training for a period of 15 days at Hospitals, and taken for field visits to Hotels, Bakeries and Industries. Students are trained to conduct Nutritional Education Programmes in Schools in and around Chennai. The students are given opportunities to participate and present papers in Conferences, Seminars and Workshops (State, Regional, National and International level). This undergraduate program also provides scientific, technological and managerial skills needed for graduates entering into business administration in the field of nutrition and related industry.
