- UGC-NET Achievements – Second M.A. Economics
- Srutipriya Mahesh – Cleared UGC-NET (Assistant Professor) and secured Ph.D. admission .
- Shalini M. – Cleared UGC-NET (Ph.D. Eligibility) and obtained Ph.D. admission
- Inauguration of “Eco Connect Club”
- The Department of Economics initiated its first club event, “Eco Connect Club,” on 10th March 2025 at 11:40 a.m. in Seminar Hall 2 .
- Participants included the students and faculty members of both UG and PG Economics.
- The first discussion topic: “Can India Become the 3rd Largest Economy by 2025?”

A Guest Lecture on “Economic Theories and Research for Employability” was delivered by Dr. S. Ulaganathan, Guru Nanak College , on 07/10/2025 .
- Research Publication
Faculty and students jointly published a research paper titled “The New Workforce Dynamics: A Study on Gender Differences in Flexibility and Work-Life Balance among Gig Workers in Chennai City” in Indowise International Publisher (A Micro Enterprise registered under MSME, Government of India) .
