B.Com Information Systems Management (SFS)

The UG Department of B.Com Information Systems Management was established in 2004 as B.Sc. ISM under the self-financing stream and was restructured into B.Com ISM in 2012 to better align with industry requirements. The program blends commerce, computer science, and management, providing students with a strong multidisciplinary foundation. With a focus on employability, the department continually updates its curriculum to reflect emerging technologies and business practices, instilling both technical knowledge and professional values such as responsibility and integrity. The faculty team is committed to nurturing academic growth and practical expertise through a combination of classroom instruction, mentoring and experiential learning.

To ensure industry readiness, the curriculum incorporates internships, projects and job-oriented courses that provide real-world exposure. Hands-on training sessions, workshops and invited talks by professionals enable students to strengthen their skills across multiple domains. The department also promotes continuous learning through online certifications on platforms such as Coursera, NPTEL and SWAYAM, while ICT-enabled classrooms and access to e-resources, digital content and department library collections enhance learning opportunities. Students are encouraged to participate in seminars, skill development programs and competitions, which help cultivate critical thinking, concentration, and analytical ability.

The department maintains a strong placement record, with students securing placements in reputed organizations. Alumni are employed in leading corporate companies, consultancy services and financial institutions, including Accenture, CTS, L&T, HCL, Capgemini, HDFC Bank, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bank of America and CohnReznick. With its consistent emphasis on academic excellence, professional training and holistic development, the Department of B.Com ISM continues to prepare students for successful careers in commerce, technology and management.
