B.C.A (SFS)
The Department of Computer Applications was established in 1999 with the objective of providing women students with quality education in computer science and applications. In response to the growing demand for the programme, a second batch was introduced in 2008, expanding the department’s academic reach. The BCA programme is designed to provide a strong theoretical foundation in computing while equipping students with applied skills in problem-solving, software development, and emerging technologies. It fosters a dynamic learning environment that emphasizes both professional competence and ethical responsibility.
The department is supported by a team of experienced faculty members who are actively engaged in teaching, mentoring, and research. Their contributions, published in Scopus and Web of Science-indexed journals, reflect the department’s commitment to a strong research culture. To enhance student learning and career readiness, the department offers value-added programs such as Coursera, NPTEL, mandatory summer internships, and funded undergraduate research projects. These are further enriched through seminars, workshops, guest lectures, and intercollegiate symposiums that promote creativity, innovation, and skill development. A Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Larsen & Toubro EduTech (L&T) facilitates industry engagement and collaborative learning opportunities.
Students of the department consistently excel in academics and co-curricular activities. With a steady 100% placement record, graduates have secured positions in reputed multinational companies as Software Developers, Web and Mobile App Developers, Data Scientists, and Quality Assurance Engineers. Upholding its vision of empowerment, the department continues to shape confident, industry-ready professionals for the digital era.
