Outreach Club 2023-24
Medical Camp – Amma Appa Old Age Home
In coordination with Parvathy Multi Speciality Hospital, Chromepet, the Outreach Club of Shrimathi DevkunvarNanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College organized a medical camp in Amma Appa Old Age Home, Mannivakkam on June 17, 2023, with a focus on food requirements for the senior population. At the Medical Camp, doctors from the Parvathy Multi Speciality Hospital in Chromepet offered consultations, blood pressure, bone mineral density, eye, and blood glucose level checks. Our Club students supplied diet and psychological counseling. It was a success because the students collaborated and supported the hospital staff during the camp.
Dental Checkup and Nutrition Awareness Camp – Vels Global School
On July 4, 2023, a “Dental Checkup and Nutrition Awareness Camp” for KG students was held at Vels Global School in Keelkattalai by the Outreach Club and the PG Department of FSND at ShrimathiDevkunvarNanalal Bhatt Vaishnav College in association with Parvathy Multi Speciality Hospital, Chromepet. Anthropometric (height and weight) measurements were taken to kick off the program by Parvathy Multi Speciality Hospital in Chromepet, along with dental and eye examinations students from the Outreach Club and MSc. FSND put on the puppet show, skit, and games. The KG students enjoyed and were enthralled by the puppet show that was held to raise awareness of “Dental Health.” The Kindergarten students were thrilled with the skit, which was performed to raise awareness of “Personal Hygiene.” The KG students participated in a variety of games on nutrition to conclude the event.
